The worst thing is that the hit/fall wasn't even necessary, he could have just stayed like a live threat for Indy all these years. How come if their budgets are almost the same 300 and 290 million And their grosses are 375 and 525, they are each expected to lose the same amount of money? Edward Zwick did a hell of a job directing Last Samurai. Not as good though. ...also Spider-Man's Mary Jane. The chances of that happening are so remote. You can't compare Lisa Zane to Neve Campbell/Courtney Cox and Jamie Lee Curtis. To me the best so far is whatever they did to recreate Rachel (Sean Young) in Blade Runner 2049. This one is good, but before the movie came out/early reviews were saying that it was FLAWLESS... WTF... it's not terrible, but it's pretty obvious it's a CG cartoon. I still wish DePalma had stayed, I love his style. At the end of the day it will still be a flop... just not a bomb. It's showing decent legs, should be at 500M worldwide this upcoming week. Will definitely fall shorter than previous installments gross and since the upcoming one is considered a continuation of this one I doubt that Part Two will gross more than Part One... so Dead Reckoning Part Two will likely be the end of the franchise with Cruise as lead. Something similar happened when Part 3 bombed... but they took some time off between M:I3 and Ghost Protocol to reinvent the series... I doubt a Cruise in his late 60s will be able to revive the franchise and also how can they make these movies bigger than they currently are? I will still support them since it's my favorite spy series, but I'm concerned about anything after Dead Reckoning 2. =( Good... the guy seems to be full of himself. lol Good points. I would bet most of these movies were not greenlit with these crazy budgets, they all suffered due to COVID delays and then all the protocols that had to be implemented in order to resume. I doubt they will be able to do that, having a forced hiatus in the middle of shooting must be extremely expensive, particularly for a movie shot in so many international locations with such an extensive cast and crew. I don't think so. I think that a big reason why this movie failed was because its a forgotten character, I can't think anyone under 30 genuinely excited for this movie. Me in particular, I skipped this movie because of the spoilers regarding how the character was written for this installment - I did not want to watch one of my childhood heroes as a fragile old man. Yeah, I confused them too. The #1 reason is that the scripts they are using (if they are even using one) SUCK. I have no issues with voice over narration - it depends on the movie - here it worked. Even with Barbie being front loaded, Oppenheimer won't have the legs to match the same box office gross.
