So many well written (and acted) characters! Even with all the great aspects of this show the writing sticks out as just masterful. In this golden age of TV this is really among the very best written ones (so far) I encountered. Only one I can think of that's comparable in this would be The Wire. What a ride indeed! Fantastic show in absolutely all aspects of it. Perfect in it's period pieces. Great acting, editing, sound and story. Will go so far as saying I haven't been so exited after a season of a TV-show since earlier seasons of GOT or Breaking Bad. Yeah, remember Claudia popped up to talk to Bartosz in 2019 - who thought she was dead since before he was born. My guess is that she travelled from 1986 to 2019, and then lived in secrecy for some reason till 2052 (making her so old) before she could (or wanted to) get back to meddle with things, and by then lived in the bunker. Also think elder Jonas will age in the future before he manages to start getting back to visit his former self. Can't wait to see where they go with this in next season! Finally got around seeing this one too, holding back because of all the negative reviews, even if I love sci-fi/fantasy-movies. And I agree with you. Not that bad at all! Found myself quite entertained. So much so that I didn't even notice it was so short until I read it here :D I guess people just expect movies to be at least 2h+ these days, and pan all under 2h as bad (which to be fair is often the case). Not here I think. Maybe a lot was left out after editing, but in that case it was probably for the best, as the result was at least like 7/10 good in my book. Not a GREAT movie, but quite good. Never got around to reading the books which guess helps, as it seems the fans of the books are among the harshest critics. It's way better than 18% on RT or the 5,7 rating on IMDB. Good call. I gave it half/three quarters of an hour before I caved in. Just a horror to the ears, mind, history-buff and movie-lover in me. That this drivel is considered among the top movies of 2017 is beyond me. So hair was strange, but missing one eye and no hammer was ok? All this I think was part of the transition of Thor to the successor of Odin as new leader of the Asgards and with enhanced powers. Yeah, this one was gold! Really impressed by the two young actors in the lead roles. Refreshing to see something so original and extremely well made for once. 4/10, and then I'm being nice as I find the captain a good character/actor and the special effects are good. It's still a pain to watch with every Klingon appearance as nails on a chalkboard and the feminist agenda showed down our throats. The Orville is just great and is like getting good old TNG back with modern GFX and more humour. Would recommend it to all fans of the real Star Trek! Agree with all negative points listed in the various posts here except the ones about subtitles on the klingons which I didn't mind at all. In comparison to the horrible acting, costumes and way of speaking the klingons had in those scenes, the subtitles was like an annoying little fly compared to a bear taking a dump on my couch while eating my brain. The CGI was indeed impressive. Too bad the budget could only afford some used uruk-hai costumes from LOTR modified with camel turd and voice actors with some kind of slow speech impediment as klingons after that. Yeah, of all the puzzling choices in this disappointing new "Star Trek"-series the showrunners went with, this one is just the strangest. Why in the world go with a guys name on a girl like that?!? I just couldn't get over it every time her (his?) name was mentioned when watching it, and it was seriously distracting. Overall the show sucked donkey balls anyway, so it doesn't matter too much as I won't be seeing much more of it. But it was the thing I mostly came in here too check out if others reacted to. Didn't lose me as a viewer (yet), but S03 after the episode with the drama in court (Jimmy vs Chuck) has been a big letdown. Very slow episodes with almost no progress to the story and WAY to much Chuck. I appreciated Chuck's part in making Jimmy into Saul, and have enjoyed it a lot. Very strong acting performance and some very well written scenes. But they went to far in fleshing out this character and give him so much screen time this season, as he himself is not really very interesting and is a negative and often annoying character to follow so much. At least he should be gone till next season, which I'm sure will improve things. Jimmy doesn't lose any money. Just that he will have to wait for it for x months instead of very soon. Probably he would get a bit more even. The reason he started the whole thing with the old ladies was more that he would like the money straight away since it was so much anyway. Then he decided to do that thing in the finale just to get Eileen back with her friends, sacrificing his payday (and the good relations to all those clients). Good that it was just an experiment and that it's removed now. I'm all for some form of control to stop the worst trolls, but automated filters like that just doesn't work, since they will always find ways around it. Anyway, we have ignore and report button, and now a new moderator3 to do the job! Abusive word filter is not the way to go at all. As one other wrote here, it's also something we don't need when there is mods around. Testing: "Stupid" This word I was not allowed to reply with the other day. Don't remember the exact sentence, but it was intended to be VERY far from offending anyone. But as I was not allowed to use it I had to delete the whole sentence, as it was the only word fitting there really. I can understand words that in ANY context are offensive. But words like "stupid" or "shut"?!? C'mon Jim. This is very sad as moviechat was so liberal with this in the beginning, which I saw as a good thing despite some trolls abusing it. Yeah can't stand all those bubbles with strange letters in them getting in the way of the nice images. I only look at the images when I read books. All those letters are just so confusing. Comics counts as books.. right? Hmm. Looks like somebody copied moviechat. Almost the same layout, fonts, topics etc. Jim should sue them :D Of the ones being produced and aired these days? Game of Thrones for sure. It will be treasured by generations of fantasy fans to come. Otherwise none really, except The Simpsons which is already a classic and certainly timeless humor. Of shows in this era of television there are some that could get the "timeless classic" stamp: The Wire, The Sopranos, Deadwood, Boardwalk Empire, Mad Men and Breaking Bad. After the next world war and the following energy crisis, world financial meltdown and climate changes with the poles melting and the sea rising, making the catastrophe of the world complete with whole countries and all the most populated areas uninhabitable, I am sure it will be nice for the survivors to check out some of the TV-series from the stupid old world, trying to figure out how all the shit could have come to pass.. Thanks for input! Thats what I always thought too. It's only in the movies (and possibly in the most desperate and primitive environments) that the boss shoots his lieutenants left right and center for the smallest mistake, treats them like shit etc. and still have them throwing themselves at the enemy for him.
