My favorite was when someone in the family gushed about how he was "honorably wounded in war." Why shoes weren't thrown through TV screens throughout the UK is beyond me. Not at all true to the time, or to Carson's character. The "Scarlet Woman" should be shunned, according to Carson, but Thomas -- a known thief, and someone who would equally bring scandal down on the house is a poor, misunderstood character. Yeah, right. If you're going to do an historical drama, don't do a rewrite of history to please modern audiences. He'd only have been tolerated if he were a member of the family. As a member of the staff, he'd have been sent packing on the spot, and without a reference. I wonder if he regrets that song, "Move Over." I live in Oregon, where we've had vote-by-mail exclusively for decades. And we've had solid Democrat rule in the Statehouse for all that time. If you look at Oregon's history, we've had Republican Governors in the past. Institute vote-by-mail, and we've never had a Republican Governor since. Mere chance would have given us a Republican Governor. Vote-by-mail is the easiest system to game that there is. And in Oregon -- you're not going to believe this -- they made it so it's easy to change your vote. Just draw a line through the "wrong" vote, and fill in the box for the "right" vote. It can be done by anyone with a blue or black pen. Trump didn't even know the half of it. Not true. They're not forced off. That's bait, Rev. Trump had a great economy and he shot it in both feet. He started the lockdowns and the inflationary stimulus that Biden doubled-down on. Trump helped develop the clotshot and Biden mandated it. Trump started it all, and Biden just made it worse. He wasn't a good President. He ran the country like a 1990's Democrat. "Magadonians" -- please, children, that name Trump chose is stupid enough -- know so little about politics that they don't know what 1990's Dems were like. Then again, neither do the people using "wit" like "MAGAtards." Laughed myself silly! Thank you! Nancy may not be House leader, but my guess is he's still going to be impeached every time he turns around. Yes, I do think we'll lose the House. Good political move, in other words. Trump is establishment politician this time around. For us real conservatives, he needs to show us the list of conservative justices he's working off of for SCOTUS picks. That will be his lasting legacy. He's promised big on everything else before and didn't deliver, but he can make a huge impact with the SCOTUS if he only picks solid ideological conservatives -- which frankly he wouldn't know if they crawled up and bit him on the bum. So he needs a real conservative to pick them for him, one who knows the courts and the judges' track records. He's not a verified "insurrectionist." They're having a little trouble making that stick since he told the people to go to the Capitol and demonstrate "PEACEFULLY." If a fellow is going to go out of his way to tell people to demonstrate PEACEFULLY, that's hardly asking them to implement an insurrection. What Dems like to do is just keep repeating something, hoping that it sticks. That's the case, here. Trump ain't much. He had a good economy, but he destroyed that himself with the lockdowns and the inflationary stimulus. And he had no regrets, so he'd do it all again. Trump's abysmal, but he's better than the guy who's in there currently. So why doesn't the Pope excommunicate him? How many policemen and women's funerals did Trump go to after he was out of office, before he started running again? People act as if there is no political aspect to this, and of course there is. Do you honestly think Trump would have been at the wake -- he doesn't drink -- if it wasn't a political stunt? The funeral was the next day. Of course, he couldn't have the split screen contrast between him and Biden that way. Also, he had three years in which to go to such wakes and funerals, but he didn't. Speaks volumes. I will concede that Biden is a cabbage who couldn't raise five dollars without the help of better-loved Presidents. I'm putting in this criticism because you're ignoring the political angle of what Trump is doing. In fact, Trump ran as apolitical the first time. Almost every decision and policy is political this time. If you can't see it, possibly you haven't been studying politics as long as I have. I think he was banned from the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. Carson tried to do a regular interview, but Coleman did the funniest routine -- he acted as if every question Carson asked was more and more of an embarrassment to Carson. Soon it was down to Coleman holding his hands between his knees, head sort of down, looking up at us, rocking back and forth, and to every question something like, "Ooooo-KAY!" You'd have to have seen it. Thing is, you do NOT embarrass or make fun of Mr. Carson. Not only would Carson ban you from the show, he'd try to destroy your career. He may have suffered because of that. The studio audience was roaring, though, and I laughed myself silly. It was a magnificent performance, but I doubt it was worth it. Good catch! I didn't even notice. There were so many things wrong with this. Warning! Spoilers! So they find out that Jimmy once again does a lousy job of coppering. He was told Albe had recently had his head shaven by the lady across the street. Jimmy spaces it. Penhaligon does the double-checking Jimmy was supposed to do and discovers one of the guys on their list deceived Jimmy into believing he was a cancer patient, when in reality he hadn't missed work in over two years. They could have picked him up for lying to a cop. Rather than sending a car around to pick the guy up, they just pick boogers and stare at each other. In Albe's set up of Billborough, he feels up Catriona Billborough. Catriona gets Billborough's attention by saying, "That man!" rather than saying, "What about him?" and pulling out the police phone that he pulls out after being stabbed and calling in the location, he decides to run after him. Albe is obviously waiting for Billborough to catch up during the chase, but Billborough doesn't notice he's being set up. And he stands there and waits to be stabbed rather than taking any defensive measures. The only way this works is if everyone forgets how to be a cop. Scaremongering works better than one would like to think. A friend of mine is a knee-jerk liberal. I can only talk to her about cats, which we both share an abiding love for. She's not a blithering idiot. And yet she honestly believes that Trump wants to be a dictator. She loved EOs when Obama used them, but she thinks Trump will destroy Democracy. I'll tell you what destroys Democracy -- mail in voting! Just look at Oregon. And MOST of Oregon is RED, would you believe it? Even in Western Oregon. Obama tried to make headlines with an anti-gun speech in Southern Oregon, and people lined the highway with placards to jeer and tell him to go home. He was so stupid he thought all of Oregon was like Portland. First of all, he's not the Antichrist. Given his lifestyle he shows no indication of being a believer, but there are plenty of people who live like the devil and think they're Christians. Sad, but true. But it is appalling that a fellow who now thinks abortion's okay, and has always thought adultery and fornication weren't particularly bad, who came up with that clotshot that's causing myocarditis in little kids and sudden heart attacks in adults and is for all sorts of perversions is selling Bibles, trying to make money off of God and Holy Week. That's just a bit thick. The worst part from the Trump POV is that even though Bidenomics has the country in stagflation with people taking a beating every time they go to the store, Trump is still running neck and neck with a cabbage. Four years ago, we had the "15 days to reduce the spread" that was just the start of the lockdowns. We had to have the inflation-producing stimulus to make up for the lockdowns. We were going to get the clotshots from Trump's Operation Warp Speed. And all because Trump had brought Fauci on as the guy who was going to run the show. Fauci, the biggest swamp creature of them all. Someone who'd been in the Deep State so long he was making more money than anyone in government. Trump kept making speeches against precisely THIS TYPE OF PERSON, and so he puts the entire economy in his hands. And trusts him! No, we can't expect one guy to know everything, but we do expect that person to make the right decisions or take the heat. If not, then we can't blame Biden for how this economy turned out. After all, how could he know? He was just doubling down on everything Trump did regarding Covid. Oh, and some folks on Twitter were pointing out that it was unfair to point to Trump's fourth year in office, since we were in the throes of the pandemic. We didn't make the rules. TRUMP asked us if we were better off four years ago than we were today. Did he not remember what was happening then? People were losing businesses, jobs, children were being kept out of school. The only good thing was that parents who hadn't been paying attention to what was happening to their kids suddenly realized that their kids weren't being taught, they were being indoctrinated. What the heck did those parents talk about at the dinner table? My parents always asked me, "What did you learn in school today?" Do parents not talk to their kids? How could that have happened without parents knowing? Well, we're both left saying wow. Watch Mark Steyn's "Victims of the Vax" special. It'll open your eyes. Mr. Steyn was told that his current heart problems were due to his having to take the vax. He's currently in a wheelchair. It helped a good deal that they learned people put on ventilators didn't do as well as those who weren't, early on. They pushed too much oxygen, which can kill people. Ask any emphysema patient. But it's all gone now because they learned how better to manage things rather than botch them, even when they refused to give people the medication that would have cured them. Try reading The Real Anthony Fauci. It's an eye-opener, and well researched. And I hope none of your relatives or friends develop cancer after taking the vax. Oh -- in Oregon they would laugh heartily at anyone who doesn't adhere to the straight party line. Even though IVM cured people, any doctor would lose his or her license if they prescribed the medication. It worked, but they withheld it from dying patients because if there was a treatment, they couldn't force people to take the vax. And we're all about Big Pharma. It's not coincidence that the two choices on the ballot are both bought and paid for by Big Pharma -- the "Father of the Vax," and the guy who doubled down on all of Trump's Covid policies. You're talking about the old-time vaccines that I got as a child almost 70 years ago. I was talking about the mRNA vaccine they used against Covid. Nice chatting with you. Please do some research. You're right about those old vaccines -- utterly harmless. Especially the mere four or five I took back in the day. No vaccine is necessary if there's treatment, though. I almost died, as my husband almost did, of Covid. One of the doctors mentioned in RFK,Jr's book, "The Real Anthony Fauci," prescribed ivermectin for us and in three days we were on the road to recovery. They pushed those clotshots for financial gain and suppressed the information that there was an effective treatment. It's anecdotal. People I've known. People others have known. Now here's where you crow that statistics don't show...blah, blah, blah. They're also denying they cause the spike in excess deaths, but there's no other explanation. Wait. Don't tell me. "Climate Change," right?
