have to agree re Sam. loved the Saturday morning cartoons and the music. Fashions were hit or miss. that's what I figured. It was not necessarily what either side fully imagined for her. But it was what she needed for her life. This is choice. I don't want this show rebooted. David Boreanaz is Angel. Vampires are not supposed to look like they age. How? He's not supposed to be that smart Simon loses something now since more people are familiar with Buffy-whedon vampire slaying. The idea that guys are suited for this is 'strange' Shows how old the show and game it was made off of is. If it was made now, Simon would be the Princess's galpal agreed. Jeannie runs around half naked, calls Tony 'master' while he always called her Jeannie. Bewitched was far more enlightened. Samantha was never Darrin's servant!! The moment Darrin would have asked her to that SHE would have zapped him--never mind her mother. Then it would not be called the Green Book. The white man is not just learning how to be a gentleman. He is learning what Dr Shirley had to learn in order how to survive. Tony gets away w throwing trash, being illiterate bc he is a heteronomative white man. He does not have to worry what people actually think of him for who he is. It makes a gradual impression on him. they did not take me to see that because it did involve prostitution. I think bc Batman was a 'comic book' and it involved 'fantasy elements' they believed it was safer I thought American Dreams was actually better than wonder years. It was more gritty, told the 1960's more from the side of the women, the African Americans who were experiencing it. Yes it had the white guys but the wonder years is too focused on how Kevin Arnold and people like him see and experience things. I'm sure Norma Karen and Winnie had a different perspective of what was happening and what was fair. American dreams also was more multiethic. Doctors aren't necessarily supposed to have chemistry with you. So I like her. Magic Johnson got AIDS from messing around with other women bc he was a big NBA star. Charlie Sheen got it bc he was a big hollywood star and decided to sleep around with lots of women. Were these men practicing a high risk lifestyle too? he also did not force people to obtain surgeries where they needed blood transfusions ala Arthur Ashe or hemophiliacs to need clotting producs ala Ryan white so your point wow if that's what people got worked up about life must have been snores then ooh they had Jem wallpaper. my parents did not let me get that apparently--boo on them. Yeah the Misfits and ERIC would have made the movie my parents took me to it--different families I guess. probably to try and represent between what was 'scary' vs 'spooky funny' "Inevitable" the young woman leaves the world of magic and adopts the world of logic. But instead of being sad she's left her family and everything she's ever known/grown up with, she is happy she has a boyfriend--and presumably a future husband. It is a new adventure and a different of adventure She could not have undertaken it had she never left home. And maybe it's a little inaccurate to tell little children this--certainly we know relationships now come in all kinds and people do not have to be in a relationship to be happy. But getting into a relationship was pretty obviously the end of this movie. it was the fact that he lied to her what he was doing. She had the house--it was hers now and he pretended to be somebody else under false pretenses to come back into it. That was the problem. If he was doing that, what else was happening? Most kids of divorced parents now know our parents don't get back together.
