Does it make your top 10 of the year (so far)?
Out of what you have seen, would it make your top 10 of the year and if so what number? It would be my #5 of the year so far.
shareNumber 2 after Guardians of the Galaxy 3. Might be higher if they stick the landing with the third film.
shareSame here (i.e. GOTG3 at #1, followed by this). Then again, I don't get to see many films at the cinema these days.
shareI see a lot of the films at the cinema mainly because one of my best friends works in one and gets me free tickets. I've seen both this and GOTG3 3 times in the cinema. It was the same with Top Gun: Maverick last year, there's usually like one or two films each year that really connect with me that I have to see multiple times in the cinema.
It's only every once in a while that we see action films that also have a beautiful emotional core and have this level of solid storytelling. Happy endings go a long way with me as well so Guardians of the Galaxy 3 and Top Gun: Maverick are just fantastic to me. Stuff like The Last Jedi just depresses me with Luke Skywalker becoming a depressed man who dies at the end. I feel like sometimes filmmakers have forgotten that it's okay to have happy endings in films.
