CFW for this movie. I might see it on Xmas.

It must be seen in theaters.

I agree that it requires a theatrical viewing. If I wasn't going to be with family, I would definitely go see it on Christmas day.

The first trailer didn't blow me away, but the second was quite good. And the whole thing about appearing as a single, continuous shot lends some extra interest.

I know some have called this the "British Saving Private Ryan." Hopefully it will actually be that good, or even close to that good.

I'll be with family too but I can get away for a few hours, especially in the evening I'll use it as an excuse to avoid eating dessert. The single shot does intrigue me as well and I'm wondering how the heck they will pull it off, especially considering wide shots of the battle as shown in the trailer. I've stopped expecting SPR to ever be matched or topped so I'm just looking forward to enjoying this on its own meerits. I love the WW1 film genre and subject in general. It's underrepresented, maybe because the US was hardly involved and thus no propaganda value.

I think the continuous shot will probably be done much the way that Birdman was, though you're right about the wide shots. Some trickery will be involved, as it's not an ACTUAL continuous shot, but a simulated one.

Regarding WWI movies, when I read your comment the first film that came to mind was Spielberg's War Horse. Other than that, for a different mind of WWI movie, if you haven't already seen it, this December make a point to watch Joyeux Noel. You will not regret it.

Paths of Glory is a great one too.
