Good!

Very intriguing drama about the “Leave” and “Remain” campaigns leading up to the Brexit campaign. Interesting for Americans to see how Cambridge Analytica aided the disinformation campaign via targeted advertising.

I meant the one he’s wearing in the movie poster

Ahh, but it’s kind of an uggo look.

Isn’t that the point ?

Well now it is. I wonder why this film isn’t getting more buzz, beyond it’s obvious fashion implications. It’s not cinema quality drama but it’s an interesting watch for an HBO movie. It premiered last night. Maybe Americans are too wrapped up in their own politics to care. I thought it was good from start to end, even though everyone knows the outcome.

I really think you hit the nail on the head. Couldn’t have said it better

I’m sort of ignorant when it comes to politics

I don’t know a lot about Brexit and wished this film enlightened me more on it.

reply

I think you would prefer a documentary then . You never know what’s true on hbo

reply

Funny you say that because I watched the Panama Papers documentary this weekend which was really good. Somehow it seems related to Brexit. I am sure there will be endless documentaries and books coming out of this era.

I have a feeling this is going to be a movie about pro-remain at the end of the video to drive the narrative for those that want to remain in the EU (basically anything opposite of the right).

reply

It never really got into the weeds about the pros/cons and only glossed over the major talking points: free trade, immigration, and fear of Turkey. You’re partly right, it did lean ”remain” in that it brought in the Cambridge Analytica stuff and some scenes showing people falling for disinformation. I would say the weakest part was that it jumped right into the Brexit campaign but skipped over the background, never explaining either side’s motivation or arguments.

reply

Overflowing with facts about those Brexiters.
