Who is Evie?

I got a bit confused during the latest episode. When Lourdes and Jarod were carrying Mikaela's old boxes of stuff, one of the cartons dropped on the front porch showing photobooth shots and pictures of 'the three amigos'. They laugh about one of the girls "Evie'. The pictures depict three young girls - two of which I understood to be Lourdes and Mikaela - the other, the mysterious Evie. When Lourdes mutters "...and now there's only one left" I thought "well sure, Mikaela is missing, presumed dead at this point" but who the hell was Evie and what happened to her? Did I accidentally skip an episode?

To make it more baffling, later on the episode, Jarod refers to himself, Lourdes and Mikaela as being 'the three amigos'. Unless Jarod transitioned from being a girl called Evie and became Jarod, I have no idea what is going on. Can someone explain this to me?

She's Mikaela and Lourdes' friend who died in the car accident (Mikaela was driving) if I remember correctly? Ep 3 or 4 went into that. I think.

You have that right. She died before the flight. That's the reason Mikaela is now afraid to drive, because of her guilt.

Of course!! That girl's Mother now has Alzheimers....I should probably stop watching too many series simultaneously...how could I have forgotten that??! Thank you :D
