Could be better

The bar is not high considering the first two GI Joe movies. All they need to do is keep the story simple and the action interesting.

I genuinely liked the first two but they did throw a lot at the wall just to see what sticks. G.I. Joe has a lot of potential as a shared universe.

I could see that. They really hurt themselves by having the full organization set up in #1. It's more fun to see a small group develop tactics and equipment as Cobra becomes more aggressive.

Reviews are out and they're not kind. Well shit that figures. Apparently the most common complaint is the shakey-cam during the action scenes which I didn't get that vibe from the trailers.

reply

That's unfortunate. Action scenes have improved by leaps and bounds since the shakey-cam fad ended.

I almost wonder if this movie was just like one of those 'fake blockbusters' like the Fantastic Four reboot which was made solely to keep the rights to that property. It was announced and filmed pretty fast.

That's an interesting thought. Problem is, Corman earned money when he pulled the 90's Fantastic 4. I Believe it's one of the few films to make money by not being released to theaters or VHS(at that time).

Figures.
