Hunter Dunbar's Attitude

I just started watching this and the first thing that really struck me was how disgusting Dunbar's attitude is! It's obvious that Moose is simple minded and if he would have just signed the vest at the bookstore, or even signed a piece of paper for him, things would have gone very differently.

I can understand Dunbar not liking Moose coming to his house - again, he was asking for an autograph and is obviously simple - but he posed no threat and it was ridiculous for Dunbar to have stabbed him with a pen!

But I guess there would be no movie if Dunbar didn't act like a creep and set the stage for what follows.

agreed,
but i can appreciate the film less for its plot and side-characters, & more for Johnny T's brilliant performance

Yes, his performance was fantastic but I still really didn't like the movie. I feel his performance was wasted in it. The whole thing was just very distasteful to me.

He'd been a celebrity for a while. You'd think he'd have experience with people asking for autographs at a bad time. Some were probably pretty rude about it, too.

This movie was disgusting. The actor was a caring, protective father and his entire life was destroyed because the creepy stalker latched onto him, threatened his life and killed his maid/love interest... And we are supposed to feel sympathy for the stalker and be happy the actor goes to prison just because the stalker is autistic.
