Many call this just an intense family drama...
...and if you did, you're BUSTED.
It just means you only watched the first half of the movie.
Either that or....what kind of fucked up family do YOU have?
It only hinted to being a horror film for a large part of the movie. You knew something was off, but the movie was mostly playing like a tragedy, until the end, when it became a full blown horror film. Until then, though, there were only very fine hints of thread hinting at the horror beneath. I really liked the movie, but I’d have liked for those earlier hints to be a little more frequent or substantial, because at one point in the film, I was wondering whether it was a horror movie at all and if I had just imagined the hints that something was off. The creepy ending, though, made up for the uncertainty.
