But I can see it plausible and Otto only accepted it because it was a tribute to his wife. What I don't believe is he would buy a EV truck. Otto is like my dad. Everything should be stick shift and none of these extra buttons. My dad kept same car for 15 years because you can't find american made stick shift small cars anymore.

And the trans character was just yet ANOTHER case of box checking. All movies made these days have to go down the list and check off all the boxes whether it's necessary to the story or not. Also: Why'd Malcolm's dad wait so long to kick him out?? Malcolm had clearly been living as a guy for some time (since at least the start of the movie) and it appeared he'd already undergone hormone therapy (likely paid for by his parents) so...what gives? I have a feeling Malcolm's dad kicked him out over something completely unrelated to his being transgender! If not then it made no damn sense.
