LET'S TALK ABOUT......JONATHAN.

OK look, I'm completely against shaming anyone for their mannerisms. We are what we are by the nature of WHO we are. Straight acting, butch acting, fem acting, it's all good. There's nothing in the world wrong with a guy whose mannerisms come off as feminine. I stand by that.

But having said that, while there is nothing wrong with acting fem, there's PLENTY wrong/annoying by a grown man acting like he's 9. For that reason alone, I can't stand watching him. As a gay man, I don't care if I am represented by a fem guy. I am embarrassed though at being represented by an overgrown teeny bopper. Carson was fem, but he never bounced around batting his eyes and dancing on set like a 9 year old girl.

I'll stick to binging on the old shows. The whole series is on YouTube.

First off, I have NO DOUBT that you are a gay man. I understand that it would be particularly hard to swallow Jonathan as an effeminate gay man because he’s basically a more visible representation of you, the tribe you associate with.

I feel the same way on a lesser note when a woman on television or a movie does something ridiculous or down right stupid because in some small way they are a representative for women - just because that’s how small minds work, the ‘dur, I saw this woman in that movie act this way so that’s how all women must think, act, be.’ So I get how much WORSE it would be for a sub group like an American minority, lgbt or fat < skinny etc.

However from an outsiders point of view, I can’t help but have extreme admiration for someone who has not allowed society to change them to what we find acceptable. I can only imagine how he’s had the strength of character to withstand a life long onslaught of pressure to change his oddities. Being yourself or original in society is so incredibly difficult because through negative feedback and pressure it is all about conformity to gain acceptance. He has most likely had the piss taken out of him every day of his life and he has bucked the system.
