There's a short scene where we see Jim getting onto his motorcycle after the day's wrap on Lancer and he has what I thought was an annoyed look on his face.
Wonder if that look might've been come from the fact that he felt Rick's performance as Caleb had upstaged him on his own show?
Possible, if people were buzzing about it. He wasn't in the scene or there to watch it.
It's a pilot so anything that adds meat to the show is a good thing. If critics are raving about Rick's character and performance that has to be good ego aside. The most important thing is for the show to get on the air.
When Trudi/Mirabella tells Rick that was the best acting she's ever seen, I wonder if the rest of the crew felt the same and later talked about in front of Jim. Just a guess.
