Two weeks out this is my main takeaway, besides serving to show his scars from being a stuntman however I don't get the point.

It's to show that he is the man that Rick pretends to be. When they watch FBI he compliments his jump out of a truck even though Cliff can do things like he did jumping up to the roof.
