What was the deal with the LSD dipped cigarette? (spoiler)

As we ALL know you cannot smoke LSD as it literally breaks down and is destroyed by even leaving it on a dashboard on a hot day.

Yet it looks like it had some effect -- tracers, losing train of thought, etc. Was this a goof that no one picked up on or was there some story behind how this wasn't actually acid and was just sold as such? Or is it simply a tie-in to the make-believe Hollywood ending?

I think you might be overthinking it. Most people probably DON'T know the intricacies of how quickly LSD breaks down, and in what temperatures. LOL. I think we're just supposed to understand that the cigarette was laced with drugs....and when Clint smoked it, he was affected.

I know most people wouldn't know that. Was being sarcastic sorry.

That's mainly why it's annoying. When depictions of drugs are so blatantly incorrect in film/TV it leads the general public to believe things that can't actually happen. "I'm sure my joint was laced with acid bro! I was freaking out!"

Plus it was stated numerous times that it was meant to be acid and not just "drugs".

Probably an example of hippies pranking the over-30 squares. It would have been PCP.
