Music being used from the original Outer Limits show ...

In the episode "Test" starting at about 7:00 on, the opening music where the "control voice" from the Outer Limits would say

Control Voice: There is nothing wrong with your television set. Do not attempt to adjust the picture. We are controlling transmission. If we wish to make it louder, we will bring up the volume. If we wish to make it softer, we will tune it to a whisper. We can reduce the focus to a soft blur, or sharpen it to crystal clarity. We will control the horizontal. We will control the vertical. For the next hour, sit quietly and we will control all that you see and hear. You are about to experience the awe and mystery which reaches from the inner mind to... The Outer Limits.

I got this creepy eerie feeling, and I realized it was accentuated by the music that was from the original "Outer Limits" B&W TV show. Perhaps that is why the screen aspect ratio is square, very close to what a TV tube was like back in the 60's.

In episode 8 they used as-is atmosphereic music from John Carpenter's 1982 classic, "The Thing". It was well done. Q. Tarantino did the same in his recent snow-bound western, the name of which escapes me at the moment.

Hateful Eight?

I did not catch the music from "The Thing", I just did not care as much for that movie as I did for the original The Thing From Another World.
