I am confused about one episode....

The one titled Guilt Trip.

The woman states she needed the hitchhikers wallet to plant it somewhere....but then kills him and makes it look like a suicide to frame him....ok, all that is clear. But why was her body in the trunk?

So she wanted to kill herself but frame someone for murder? That makes no sense and I am clearing missing something, I just do not know what....
