X-Men

I don't know about anyone else, but this movie had the same vibe for me as X-Men, Logan, etc. Small minded cowards that fear others who are more advanced than they are. That is why the organization exists...to find and kill super beings. Same as X-Men.
Remember in Logan that doctor had devised a formula that robbed mutants of their abilities and mixed the fluid with corn oil!

Yes, there are indeed parallels between X-Men & Glass. The suppression of super beings/mutants and superheroes is something that’s always been associated with the X-Men and this theme has been covered in virtually all the movies. It’s their thing.

What’s more, Mr. Glass can comfortably be liken to the one and only Magneto. The famous X-Men character may be seen as a villain (mostly) because of his questionable methods, but when all is said and done all he wants to do is free, give a voice to and protect his own kind. Not to mention he lived a tragic live. He and Mr. Glass are very similar to each other.

On that note, if there is one X-Men film that will in all probability give off the same vibe as Shyamalan’s Glass more than any past X-Men film and vice versa, it might be the upcoming New Mutants. Super beings held against their will in some sort of asylum, they’ll likely be experimented on to rid of their powers, and plus Anya Taylor-Joe stars in it? I’m sure its tone will be way different from Glass but those are some strong similarities there if I say so myself.

And how fitting is it that there’s a buncha X-Men comics visible in the comic shop scenes. Love it.

Dunn = Wolverine (& Superman). Mr Glass = a combination of Xavier & Magneto (& Lex Luther). Dunn & Mr Glass' relationship in UB parallels Logan & Charles in X1/2. In Glass its more Wolverine/Magneto (& Superman/Lex). The Beast = Beast Also McAvoy and Taylor-Joy = XMen actors which is a pretty big coincidence. Clover organisation = similar to the one in Logan wiping out mutants. Also End battle at the hospital/McAvoy death = similar to end battle at the hospital/Wades death in Deadpool 2

In fact I remember MNS in in interview might be in the UB DVD where he said when he was preparing to do UB he saw X1 and was like 'oh man this is the movie I'm about to make, they've beat me to it' but then after about the first 20minutes when its all very grounded with superhumans existing in the real world it becomes more of a traditional comicbooky superhero movie like the Superman & Batman movies with action/explosions and costumes and villains lairs etc and he said he was like 'oh its ok that's not what my movie is so I can still make my movie'
