Okay, so I have a healthy appreciation of comics, and have always read them. But they're not my #1 thing, and I don't read nearly as many as I'd like (time and money, right?). So I've never gotten around to reading this arc yet, but want to, especially since it sounds like they might get it right this time.

Anyway, what I'm getting at is I'm wondering if anyone can recommend which collection of this arc is best/most complete. Because I see a few different versions when I check amazon, and you can't really trust their reviews to even necessarily be for the same item.

9 times out of 10, the first is always the best. Read the Claremont/Byrne story--it transpires over the course of about 36 issues and the way it slowly develops with Jean turning into Phoenix and being played by the Hellfire Club to become evil is masterful storytelling.
