a lot to take in!

I remember hearing about this but didn't pay much attention. Gypsy Rose will be interviewed from jail that will air tonight on 20/20.

I wonder how was her mother able to convince some of the doctors she had all of these illnesses when she didn't? I believe I heard Gypsy even had some surgery on non-existent illnesses also. How does that happen? Wouldn't they give you tests and x-rays to prove something is real before they operate?

I agree it's really strange. What's funny is the fact this Dee Dee woman was from Louisiana. Figures, LOL. I'm from Louisiana also, and I once knew this transsexual that lives in this small town of about 2,000 people here who was similar to her. She told me she frequently dated men, and even had long term relationships with a few, and they didn't have a clue she's genetically a male despite never having had an operation: she still has a penis. How she was able to pull this off, I don't have a clue and she made no attempt to explain it. She said even her parents, siblings and young nieces and nephews didn't gave her away as being a male despite one of these men briefly living with her and her sister. She had a ready lie for everything. When I asked what did she say when these men saw photos of herself as a boy in her parents house, she claimed, first that her parents didn't have any photos sitting around of their kids only their grandkids, but also that had never happened that they asked, but if they did she said she would simply tell them all of her childhood photos were lost in a fire (Like Dee Dee saying all of her daughters medical records and birth certificate were destroyed in Hurricane Katrina and that's why there was no proof of her daughter's age, etc).

I wonder if it's mostly people from Louisiana that tell tall tales like that and think they can get away with it. It's the southern charm, I think. LOL!!
