Indira Varma

I've never heard of her but my god she's awful in this. It may be the character and writing rather than the acting but she's so unbelievable and forced.

I can't even say if I like her acting, because the character is absolutely atrocious. Is she mental or what?

She is always saying something utterly stupid, always on the verge of throwing a tantrum... How is she still in police?! I'd be scared if such crazy woman were "protecting" me.

reply

I agree with you, she is awful and so is the script. She over-acts and is in nearly scene. No way would a real woman police officer speak to, and deal with her colleagues the way she does. It ruined the series for me so I wont be watching it again. The first review about it is obviously not a genuine one and written by someone connected with the series.

Thanks for your post...

She plays her part so bad, I'm totally expecting for her and the other detectives to be deep in a conversation...her boyfriend pops his head in and she loses it completely like a little schoolgirl.

If Nina had it her way, she'd have the entire force drop the murder case and figure out why the boyfriend left her. She'd put 24/7 detail on him. She would fire anyone who got in the way of THIS investigation

Well the show is about a murder where one sharp detective who is off her game because of her break up. I've always found her really good at playing difficult characters. The character was written as difficult and needy because of a break up that throws her sideways. It would have made a difference to truly see her character in depth before the break up on an Investigation.

Bottom line-she's in Human Target and Game of Thrones and she's hot IMHO.

She is a terrific actress who has been in a lot of things (including "Rome" along with another of the actors who appear here, Polly Walker.) But her character is beyond annoying--supposed to be 38 but acts 18. An immature 18, at that. I binged this and enjoyed it, but I was disappointed at how Indira came off. Bad writing, and I guess she felt she had to "go" with the character as written.

reply

I don't think it's fair to blame her.

The character is a total flake, as written. That's not her fault. Sometimes trying to act as a character whose motivations are totally inconsistent or non-existent can be difficult.

I think she played the part really well, which is why I hated her character. I hope that's not what she's like in real life.
