Indira Varma

I've never heard of her but my god she's awful in this. It may be the character and writing rather than the acting but she's so unbelievable and forced.

I recorded the 1st episode, and it wasn't too long before I decided to fast forward her way OTT "emotional" scenes. I couldn't care less about her relationship issues in the programme, and assume that these have nothing much to do with the plot.

Quite funny reading all the posts because I agree with every single one. She is annoying me too but she wont put me off finishing this. If I worked with her I'd have to leave my job she's that bad!

reply

Totally agree. I'm 5 minutes into it and ne ver have I disliked a character/actor so much. If it wasn't for Glenister and Sharpe I'd have switched off already.

reply

I liked her in Hustle, Luther and Game of Thrones. But in this she is dreadful. I think she's been cast completely wrong from her prior form of being dark and dry. She's never played a loveable character so she's impossible to warm to.
Intact the whole cast is wrong. The premise is good but they've put known actors in the wrong roles. Shame it had promise.

Indira Varma is in fvcking everything. She's the new six degrees of separation.

reply

Totally agree. Never heard of her. I thought she was the Hotel Inspector doing a sideline! I would imagine Alex Policeman would do a better job. Terrible actor.

Hotel Inspector doing a sideline!

Thanks for that, it's made my day 😀

so bollocks is bad, but dogs bollocks is good?

Oh my God. I've just watched episode 4 and is there a more annoying character on TV at the moment than Nina. I'm enjoying the show, but, she's annoying the snot out of me

Agree with you, she is terrible in this. She has been good in other stuff, but whether it's the character she's playing or another reason, in this she is annoyingly rubbish. That said the entire show is all over the place.

reply

Oh she is dreadful in this. Her character is dreadful, her dialogue is appalling. How did she agree to take part in this. Leaving her aside... it's a decent enough drama full of twists and turns and has managed to far to keep me interested, BUT the constant whining of Nina about her love life and juvenile strops are fast ruining it !

reply

This is actually a good and intriguing series apart from Nina

I was almost screaming at my telly at that idiotic scene where she stops Alec in the car to talk about her father - WHILE they were chasing the Ghost Detective who was on a clifftop with a wheelchair bound woman. Seriously

And that's without the childish sulking about any woman who says hello to Alec
