The new age synth was the worst possible choice for this movie. Zero sense, and very distracting. I think they were trying to seem sophisticated but the entire score sounded like a bad ringtone.

Really reinforces my opinion that the director/directors were pretentious hacks.

The music was supposed to be jarring and create additional tension in the film. Uncut Gems is a film about tension.

Saying it’s supposed to be about tension sounds like a cheap excuse to defend any criticism. “Oh it’s supposed to be bad, you just don’t get it!”

The soundtrack was good, but weird/different in a movie like this. Sounded more like something you would expect in a 70s-80s sci-fi flick.
