As an Oscar blogger, I screen all the awards films and Best Actor is the toughest of the four this year to call. I had big expectations for the Adam Sandler thriller, but I couldn't stand it. After forty five minutes I clicked the x on my VLC player. All Sandler and the rest of the boorish cast do is yell, scream over each other, and make shady deals. Once he's thrown in the trunk of a car, I had hoped he would stay there.

If anyone can tell me this gets better from here on, I will give it another go. But Sandler won't be nominated, nor the screenplay.

its a crap film.

yet people rave about it like its sunset blvd. or something...

It's not good at all. The music dialogue, cinematography were all done in a way to try and increase levels of tension and urgency. The thing is, this movie has no balance. As a viewer I was quickly overloaded to the point where I actually felt the opposite of tension or urgency. I just didn't care. Everything just became annoying and I wanted to turn it off. I actually did for a while and only came back to it because, out of principle, I have to finish a movie all the way through.

This had some pretty good reviews and, honestly, Im dissapointed. I don't think this was good at all.

I turned it off a little before that, you made it farther than me! I actually really love Sandler when he is actually trying to be a good actor, so I was super excited for Uncut Gems. Boy did that excitement die quickly...
