Why doesn't Paramount sue?
its basically star trek in all but name (and unlike Galaxy Quest it isn't a spoof like it kind of started out as)
pretty sure George Lucas sued Universal for Battlestar Galactica (successfully i think)

Probably Paramount doesn't sue for the same reason: although it looks similar it would be hard to prove that it's a copy of original elements - it's not like Star Trek is fully built on original, never before seen elements.

thats true, I mean Star Trek was similar to Forbidden Planet and other stuff (but possibly FP the most )
