Why don't they call it Warp Drive?

People assume Roddenberry created Warp Drive, so The Orville can't copy it. But it dates to 1957.

Islands of Space is generally credited with introducing the concepts of hyperspace and the warp drive to science fiction.

Warp Drive and Quantum Drive are not the same thing. Trek uses Dilithium crystals (fictitious) for its warp drive. Orville uses quantum vacuum plasma thrusters which has its basis in reality and is being tested now. NASA tested it a few years ago successfully and it may make warp drive or interstellar travel a possibility.
