So, it is only at the end of the show that it really became like the lost in Space we are familiar with. During the all show it bugged me that it was not just the Robinsons that were lost but an entire colony, it just did not feel really like lost in space to me, especially that they knew exactly how to get home. It is only at the very end that the real Lost in Space began. So this first season was just a 10 hours intro.. It really left me wanting more. I hope season 2 will happen.
