One of the dumbest movies in recent memory.

Towards the end, the main character had multiple options to keep herself alive. She could have easily picked up the killer's knife and stabbed him with it. Or, she could have used the tire iron in her hand to beat the killer to where he couldn't get back up. He was literally just laying there forever. She had all the time in the world. Instead, what does she do? She goes back inside to call the police. Why couldn't she call them right then and there? It was a cell phone, why did she have to go inside? This gave the killer enough time to recover and get back up.

And why was she being so slow about it? Did she think he was dead? He was visibly breathing and moving. You'd think she'd be a little more hasty considering all her friends are dead and she could be next. Nope, gonna slooowly walk back to the house, take some deep breaths, pace around for a bit, then I'll maybe call the police when I get around to it.

Cliche nonsense for no reason. If it's trying to be a throwback to 80's slasher films, the whole "characters being absolute morons" aspect is not the way to do it.

As a side note, wouldn't it look a little weird if the killer ever got pulled over and the cop saw the licenses of a bunch of dead women taped to the roof of his car? Pretty risky for someone who spends most of his time driving.

This movie is retarded.

I agree, this movies is retarded.

Actually I think the writer of this script is a sick person who has fantasies just like his psycho killer character.
He couldn't even help letting him get away with the murders.
I absolutely hate such `slasher` movies. I can feel the retarded sadistic macho mind behind it.

You know... what annoys me most, it the extreme slow pacing. Im 37 minutes in, and i am BORED.

Agreed. Dumb, stupid AND boring!

It was pretty bad. I find it funny that the director came out of retirement after almost 20 years...for this. Seriously? Two decades to come up with ideas and hone your craft, and this is what you turn in? It was slow and asinine drivel that's not even a fun horror type of horror. Pass.

I could probably get why she didn't kill him when he was down ... I mean, how easy is it to actually kill another human being? Ordinary people would feel some reluctance.

But I don't get why she had to go back in the house. Call the police right there on the spot, and keep your eyes on him to make sure he doesn't get up.

Another option -- she could've gotten into her car and just drove off to the nearest house / place of business. Then call the police. That's what she could've done if she was afraid to be near his unconscious body

Your points are relevant, but easily explained:

Hilary is like 16-17, not a hardened combat veteran. Since the guy was literally on fire (after being stabbed and beat with a tire iron) she assumed he was down for the count; if not dead, so severely wounded he was clearly no longer a threat. So why injure him further? Couldn't that be construed as a crime by investigators? Even if he was dead, it'd be abuse of a corpse. Also, keep in mind what Munny pointed out in Unforgiven: "It's a hell of a thing, killing a man."

The reason she walked into the house and waited a few minutes before calling 911 is because she wanted to get away from the immediate situation and collect her bearings. She was basically in shock by the traumatic events -- fighting for her life, killing a man or, at least, mortally wounding him (as far as she could tell), and all her friends being dead.

As far as an officer seeing the licenses of the dead women taped to the roof, they wouldn't be able to see them unless the cop got into his car and looked up, like Hilary did.

I'm not a fan of the film since parts of it were padded and slooooow, especially the first 50 minutes, but nitpicks like this aren't hard to explain with a little imagination.
