Smart. It is tough to come up with new superheros and ideas placed in past movies. Now days, movies are created around current events. I remember my mom saying that the movie industry was not doing well because ideas can only be thrown around so much; however, current events allow more to work with.

shareThe movie industry these days centers around blockbusters--if it can't make triple its budget in the first weekend, it's considered a flop (which is ridiculous). Unfortunately that means many creative ideas get passed on because they aren't guaranteed to be an explosive hit. I'm just glad Peele was able to get in touch with the right people who could get this film produced.
shareThat is about the actual the idea. It is harder when there are so many people who want to be actors and they are passed up for the people, who are either relatives of movie crew or who, to an agent, look like they would be profitable.
