This is the same as The Space Between Us

Here are the similarities

- Teenager is confined to an isolated location (house, Mars) and desperately wants to be able to leave their home.

- Teenager makes contact with someone outside of their home (on her street, Earth) and they start to bond and fall in love

- Teenager cannot leave home due to medical complications (allergies, enlarged organs) but is taken out by their lover (Tulsa, long haired white guy)

- Teenagers go on exciting location to somewhere the main character has always wanted to go, until the main character falls ill or gets injured

- They are taken to a hospital or space and forcibly returned home

It's the same damn movie with a couple of differences. As if TSBU wasn't *beep* enough, this looks even worse, somehow.

Yes it's like A Walk to Remember, Fault of our Stars, and Space Between Us

We have seen this kind of motif so many times before.

Fault in our Stars particularly was my own personal connection. :-)

so what is your point

reply

Yes, this theme has existed in movies for like 30 years. Is it original ? Obviously not. Does it mean it's a bad movie? To be determined...

reply

There's a twist to the story that makes it different. I read the book the movie is based on. Some people found it very upsetting, but others didn't mind it.

Using the ignore button keeps you healthy and wise. Now I just need to work on the wealth.

reply

I hope the twist isn't like "Bubble Boy," where she never had medical conditions, and her mom just wanted to keep her daughter with her. That would upset me.

reply

That sounds intriguing.
