The ending wtf?

What kind of closure is that? Hearst is still out there! What is he gonna do next?

In my interpretation of the series, it is a mixture of history and fiction involving real and combined people and that it somewhat followed the history. I think it also tried to point out justice is not always served and the guilty not always punished.

I'm kind of glad they did not focus on the fire that destroyed Deadwood.....

Yeah, that was my take away. Basically life goes on and rich senators don't have to eat their just deserts. It was nice to revisit the characters but I don't see how the movie was any sort of sendoff.

In real life, Hearst died in 1891. So that would given him only 2 years after the events in the movie.
