Clays demise

I just dont feel he stepped out in front of that bus on purpose. He just finished a gig on Johnny Carson, which was a big deal, and I dont buy that whole postcard from Italy thing.
Any thoughts??

You missed the part that the "See Napoli" thing, the "Once you've seen Napoli you can die, because nothing else will compare..." is directly related to a Comedian not only getting to play Carson, but getting asked over to the couch... that is the pinnacle for Comedians (at least back in the early to mid 1970s, by the 1990s it was all about getting their own SitCom.) So for Clay, there was no where else to go; he achieved his ultimate goal by being on Carson and getting to the couch... he, in essence, "saw Napoli".

I didnt miss that. I totally got that. But to kill himself just a half hour after he was on Carsons couch was very unrealistic to me... I have yet to watch the 3rd episode but maybe more will come to light. Thanks for the feedback.

Keep watching, flower. It gets better and better.

Watched every episode so far..Love the show so far..Maybe the Clay issue will unfold, but right now the other characters are taking center stage.

I am SO GLAD that you are watching this and enjoying it. This isn't high concept, like Westworld. This isn't a cornerstone of popular culture, like Game of Thrones. Like Cinemax's Banshee, this is a terrific niche series that freaking deserves an audience.

reply

I love it plus I grew up in the 70's so I can relate! LOL

Yes it deserves an audience. Showtime puts out some great shows... Ray Donovan, and the Affair..Just love them all.

reply

I lived through the 1970s, too, but I never grew up. Really like Ray Donovan (hell, I'm from Boston); also the first 4 seasons of Dexter and all of Penny Dreadful. Eva Greene seriously deserved an Emmy for that.

reply

Penny Dreadful was amazing. Beautifully done.

reply

Among its virtues was that it was literate. Greene had great dialogue written for her, and the literary references for the characters (e.g., Frankenstein's creature) were accurate to the source materials; didn't come from Hollywood horror movies.

Any thoughts on the season Finale? I have only one question... What was the tape Bill was holding in the car when he drove past King Teddys? Was it the tape of himself on Carson?

Loved the season. I hope it gets picked up for a 2nd one.

Great last shot of Teddys burning. I almost missed it, it was the last second or two.

reply

Hey R Kane...any thoughts on the 2nd season finale???

reply

I’m flattered that you asked, but I haven’t seen it yet. Something else has been going on in my life more important than keeping up with my favorite shows. I’ll give you my thoughts when my life regains its equilibrium.

reply

Hope all will work out for you.
