HUGE drop from JW! In DANGER of finishing 4th domestically this year with only $150M opening! ><

I was afraid that JWFK couldn't sustain the same hype as the record breaking JW $208M opening and unfortunately it has dropped big time from it's predecessor with a $150M opening. There wasn't that hook or nostalgia angle that the first one provided, so it seems audiences appear to not have been as excited, plus the weak marketing and mediocre reviews have not helped one bit. It's legs could possibly be hurt by Ant-Man and the Wasp in 2 weeks, which is getting rave responses by critics. I'm disappointed it wasn't able to break any records this time around but maybe they can turn it around in the 3rd one and give us the dinosaur pic that we deserve T_T

Other sequels with similar openings at around the same time are
- Furious 7 with $147M finishing with $353M
- GoTG 2 with $146M finishing with $389M
- Spider Man 3 with $151M finishing with $336M (I remember this had atrocious WOM)

Where does everyone see it finishing it's domestic run?

don't be such a drama queen. the $150M opening is considered a good success and surpassed expectations.

A movie opens to only 150M! Please Universal is popping champagne! They knew this movie wouldn't come close to JW's 208M opening that was lightning in a bottle at the time if you remember. This movie will make over 300M pure profit just from it's theater run. It's already grossed 711 WW and will end up over 1B. On top of all of that it had a reasonable budget of 170M much less than the 200-300M Disney releases this year.

It's getting fine word of mouth everybody I saw it with loved it. It's not a movie for critics or film snobs for sure but it's a crowd-pleaser just like its predecessor Jurassic World. Does it live up to Jurassic park?... nope but nobody expected it too. Shoot even Spielberg himself couldn't match that.
