My recommendation to fellow Mass Effect fans...

...stop watching trailers and teasers. The game will be best experienced if you go into Andromeda without knowing what's coming ahead of time. Stay away from pictures & videos, teasers and trailers, as often as possible, and the game's surprises should remain... a surprise.

Though even I will admit, if this game is all about collecting as much 'elfroot' as possible to craft a weapon, forget it. I generally stay away from crafting in most games anyways, and use the default weapons provided.

The game does have black guys in, right? Cuz, I'm not playing a game that doesn't have black characters in.

reply

Every color on the prism spectrum is represented, they all bleed red though.

reply

Are you kidding? You can make your OWN Ryder twin black, never mind having NPC's that are black! And for the record, one of your companions, Liam, is a black Brit, so your curiosity should be satisfied.

reply

I have watched a few videos, spoiler free, and today i watched Phoebe´s intro, just for curiososity and meh.

I think i will play the game in a year or so, when it´s already mature and plenty dlc´s are already released. No point playing it day one.

I agree about crafting, i suck at it, and i avoided it like a plague if possible.

reply

Gonna check it out on release day, but if I'm disappointed then I'm getting a refund thanks to Origin's Great Game Guarantee.

It seems things got out of hand, and some people threatened one of the lead face animators to death and even her family. Guess people are really pissed .

reply

Ugh... some folks have no life. It's a game, it's for entertainment purposes only. If it's not fun, get a refund, if it's fun, keep playing. I don't know why people have to make a big deal out of this.

reply

It's true. I didn't watch the commercials at all, and went in having no idea what would happen. The experience has been awesome, and I've played the game through at least 5 or 6 times now since it came out in '17.

reply

Really? :o

I've only played through it once but I really enjoyed it as well! Especially "Milky Way Emergency" memories you can access, I got chills listening to those broadcasts from 600 years earlier.

What's scary is that the Milky Way is silent in Andromeda. No communication from home. It is possible they chose my favorite ME3 ending which is shoot the Catalyst Kid and reject the options at the end of ME3. :)

reply

The thing is, all you get to choose in relation to the original ME games "universe state," is what gender Shepard was, that's it. So you have no idea how things turned out based on the previous games.

reply

I thought so too, but then I realized 600 years had passed and had the battle against the Reapers succeeded, it's more than likely the races of the Milky Way would have got to Andromeda before the Arks (new technologies), and made contact with them. The silence is what makes things so intriguing.
