Different Idea

I don't know if this film is still being developed or not. If not, I can see why because the first one is REALLY bad. But I do think the concept of the first film can work if done right. I don't know if the idea I have can work or not, but if so or not so, reply and tell me what you think:

How about a movie which involves an family Skyping with each other on Christmas Eve because they are so far away from each other. Probably a mother and father on one end, their grown son who is kind of an ass in another end, and another grown child that has their own family in another. If people want, they can add an Aunt, Uncle, Cousin or family friend into the mix if they want to add on to the body-count.

While Skyping, the family also acknowledges the supposed car accident that occurred with the youngest child last Christmas Eve. The film's main characters in the beginning will focus on the characters who are not in snowy weather, so perhaps the grown child with their own family, and they will be our main characters for now. All of a sudden, the youngest son starts skyping to everyone similar to the first film, revealing that his accident was in fact a suicide, not an accident, and slowly throughout the night begins to taunt everyone until they confess something that forced him to do so.

The established main characters will be the first ones to die so it throws the audience off track, maybe even a few blood splatters on the computer screen to emphasize that they're dead as hell. It'll show that while the established main characters are dead, the camera is still recording what happens to everyone else. The movie will continue on with the dead son revealing secrets, and the other families can't leave either because of A) snowed in or B) ghost won't physically let them leave the damn house. And for the love of god, don't have the movie end with everyone dying. Have one or two survive, perhaps the mother and the family friend, but emotionally wrecked and exposed to the world via social media about the terrible people they either made the dead son keep secret or some messed up stuff that they did to him.

How about that?
