Disney not impressed with the film.

Oh great, another Dark Phoenix on our hands.

From a financial standpoint, it might not be another Dark Phoenix because... Disney could *maybe* forgo a theatrical release. Just saying after the failure that was Dark Phoenix, it would make sense for them not to release another movie (in theaters anyway) from a dead franchise that could likely lose them money.

And while these reports of Disney being unimpressed with New Mutants are coming from a single line in a Variety article, I’m certain Disney is seeing no potential in it for a good reason. :/ I mean Fox themselves weren’t pleased with the first cut of New Mutants in the first place, so what gives? Lol.

That being said... there is still time to work on another cut of the film that could possibly please the studio and, yes, audiences. Sure anything can change at any time, but bear in mind Disney currently hasn’t changed their plans: this film is still set to come out on April of next year. So if this does get released in theaters in the end, then cool. If it doesn’t, oh well... I’m sure it’s going to see the light of day either way. Incidentally, though I can’t say I’m super optimistic at the moment, I do remain very interested in this film.
