Spoiler WHY?

Why did he text the cop and tell him where the remaining guns were? He wasn't turning into a good guy. Maybe to help the cops so they don't bother to question the story of the Beast death by the guard.

I had the same question. It seemed weird that he did that considering he went out of his way to set up a deal with the Mexican guy at the end for the other half of the guns. Why did he do any of that if he was going to just hand them over?

He walks a fine line between good and evil.
I think that informing the ATF about the other shipment of guns shows that he still wants to do the right thing and that most of his actions prior was to protect his family from The Beast.

He wanted to get out of their alive. He already knew the Mexican tried to kill him once and he had to explain Shotgun's absence. The Beast figured out that he tipped off the cops, but it's not like he wanted to make that public knowledge. He made the deal knowing they were all about to get arrested, so it was meaningless.

The Beast threatened his family and he knew he would have to live the rest of his life worried that something could happen to them as long as The Beast remains alive and called the shots. The way I see it, he had 2 choices. Since he could never get out of "the life" even after being freed from prison he was screwed either way so instead of remaining a servant to The Beast and constantly having to worry about his family's security he decided to screw over his plan and give himself away in order to remain in prison and kill him to take his place. That way, he has peace of mind that his family isn't under any threat under his rule which was his main priority. He basically sacrificed his normal life for them while doing the best he could in the situation he was in for himself.
