Father's Day Segment ending

I thought he was a vampire. The religious references, the salt, the "nosferatu" type reveal. I assumed he was going to force her to become one too, that's why her Mum never told her the truth, to stop him from getting her.

i want to know what she thought happened to her father all this time. what did her mother tell her? Did mom tell her that her father abandoned her. That her father died. WHAT!!!!???? LOL

... So we still don't know?

What threw me was near the end of the recording, when he said when he left he "didn't have a choice." Which would have stopped me in my tracks if I were the daughter. It doesn't seem to correlate with the "dad's" earlier line "You only get one chance to meet HIM." At one point it sounds like he really wanted to go, in another, it sounds like he was forced against his will... Just doesn't make sense.
