Why wouldn't they?
The whole point was to bring back the snapped-away people
They were expressly NOT trying to undo the last five years.
I love it, personally, because it forces the MCU to deal with the consequences of their loss in "Infinity War." The "five years later" thing was nervy as hell but also kind of brilliant from a storytelling perspective.
