The Marvels director Nia DaCosta shares the reason why the Avengers’ defeat to Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War was Captain America’s fault.

Clearly that is incorrect. Thanos needed all 6, there is another one which is readily available and no need to sacrifice anyone's life: the time stone.

In the end they did kill vision before Thanos got to him, but because of time stone it became pointless.
