Canceled

No Paleyfest panel scheduled. Absolutely confirming the nail has been put in this coffin. I'm heartbroken.

And before anyone says that this means nothing, please try thinking with a little common sense. Why would FOX not schedule Scream Queens if it WAS coming back? Surely they'd want to get as much press and excitement for a new season as possible because the last season did so poorly. Marketing and appearances like Paleyfest would be priority #1 for a hypothetical season 3. So yeah.

Canceled. Sad about it.

In a way I'm glad. I felt when this season started it should be the last. Either end on a high note or be dragged until it loses it's charm like every show by Murphy and Co. I think this season started off SO strong but went downhill around episode seven. Too much time on Brock, not enough on the mystery aspect, NO chase or creative deaths. Again, I feel this show has so much wasted potential.

This is so sad :/

I felt the opposite and feel it started off poor, had potential but none of the "threat" or mystery of season 1. We jsut kept having patients of the week get cured then killed since the only recurring people were the stars. LAter on they brought in the new Chanels and others taht become somewhat recurring and potential fodder for deaths. but happened so late didn't get to do too much with them.
Season 1 was great because between all the Kappa girls and the Dickie Dollar Scholars we had a group of recurring characters that any could get killed off at anytime. So while they might not have been some of the top stars of teh series they were still people we saw and got to know a little bit and still didn't know who would be next. Until the end portion of season 2 you always knew it was going to be whatever patient they were working with. And even then that happened occassionally jsut along with others.
That's kind of why I'd love a third and final season at least. Coudl really ramp stuff up and kill off anyone as there's no worry aboout what to do the next year or alienating fans of certain characters since its the end, so no one is safe.

Well, it didn't end on a high note... So even having only 2 seasons meant it dragged until it lost its charm.

But I was hoping for a season 3 to give the writers another chance to make up for disaster season 2. If they had done that camp idea season 2 would have succeeded.

I agree. And while Season 2 had its moments, I feel like it getting axed shows it should've been a one-season wonder.

Not to mention Lea Michele and Keke Palmer are doing other roles for other shows. Even if this show did get renewed, the only characters from Season 2 to come back would be Chanel, Libby, Sadie, Brock and Dean Munsch; let's add Grace in there too if Grace was supposed to be the Red Devil at the very end of season 2. Even if it did get renewed, I don't think Grace would come back because the actress went off to college, right? Even if it did get renewed, I doubt Sadie's character would come back, considering the actress's mother and grandmother just died a couple months ago, so that would only leave us with Brock, Munsch, Chanel and Libby. They would need to bring in an entire new cast, and considering how piss poor this season turned out, I don't think anyone wants involved anymore.

Though to be fair, FOX recently has been having trouble figuring what to do with shows like Wayward Pines and The Exorcist. So we could possibly give FOX a benefit of a doubt a little bit I guess. But I also wouldn't be surprised if FOX's decision to not give a definitive answer and not respond to fans, was any different than an ex-girlfriend constantly asking you to reply back to her, only for you to ultimately never give a response back because it's easier to do that than just simply express your reasons why you want nothing to do with her and go through the heartbreak all over again. That example's a little bit much, but I think you people get my point.

I feel this should have been a one season show. Not dragged out.
