What anti-male agenda? Just because a game has a female protagonist doesn't mean it automatically has an anti-male agenda.

shareYes. So the Nora are run by a matriarchal society, big bloody deal. Every other society has a man running it. The stuff people complain about is all in their heads, there is no anti-male message in the game.
shareAll the males are either villains, weak idiots, schemers or (perceived) creeps and perverts, like the guy who's staring at Aloy's spear but she accuses him of staring at her tits. Even Erend who's a "semi"-good male is a weak drunk that needs his sister to steer and guide him. All the females are either victims of males, kick ass warriors or enlightened "sages". There isn't even one truly "bad" female, although there's an abundance of "bad" males. Of course the destruction of the old humanity was because of (male) Ted Faro, but don't worry, benevolent, loving Gaia (female), assisted by the benevolent and loving Dr. Elisabet Sobeck save humanity and with Aloy's help defeat (male) Hades and his male minions, chiefly (male) Helis.
Why does it have to be so polarized? I have no problem with kick ass females and since she's the main protagonist, she should be (and is) the most kick ass but why not some balance? Female villains are awesome and could have added cool elements to the story and a few truly good, kick ass males would have been cool too.
The problem with this is that you have to intentionally be looking for it, so you have a bunch of weak male characters... does that mean every game that doesn't have any kick ass female characters is pushing the patriarchy? Quite frankly, all the side stories in the game gave the impression that every character was weak, Ersa was talked about as if she was a big deal, but in reality she was a pathetic damsel in distress.
The game plays much more like GTA so that you never really have much of a reason to care about the side stories or any of the characters really. This lack of depth is what makes all the other characters villains, idiots, creeps, and so on. You have a quest giver, a generic bad guy, and so on. Heck, even the complaint that there aren't any women to kill follows what generally happens in videogames (all the generic soldiers are male.)
But what about Kindiv, are you really calling him a creep? Robin Hood is normally the good guy. Avad is certainly no push over either, overthrowing your father because you find him to be evil takes guts. Of course there is also Rost... and in the beginning the backwards nature of the other Matriarchs would have prevented Aloy from saving the world. No matter how much you want to deny it, Teersa was really the only "good" Matriarch, and the others were the antagonists of the story.
As far as Faro, how often was it mentioned that he was a man? Oh right... you're just fixated that the bad guy is a male. The story required Elisabet to be female, but Faro could easily be a woman without changing anything. AIs that have no sex organs can be whatever sex you want them to be. There is no hidden agenda in the game, only people who believe there is a hidden agenda.
I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. I most certainly wasn't looking for it and I absolutely LOVE the game.
shareYeah you were. Anyone who actually loved the game wouldn't be constantly judging how there aren't enough hot men in it, they'd be too busy loving the game. You probably never played the game, like most people who have the opinion you do. The game really isn't this social justice beacon your kind thinks it is.
