I do not have HBO, but I was interested in finding a way to see this. I know it is based on a book, and I am guessing the story is about how these three women try to create the perfect life facade to impress those around them when in reality all is not what it seems?
shareNot quite. There is a murder mystery kind of at the center. And the plot focuses on the women's lives, problems and conflicts in the lead up to the night of the murder. There is a bit of how they're perceived in the community, but there isn't really much focus on them trying to impress others. It's more personal struggles and who's going to end up dead. That's not a spoiler btw, the first episode opens up with the police at the scene of the crime.
I recommend checking it out. It's well written and the cast is superb.

shareDo you have an Amazon Prime account? I think that will give you access to the show; or you can wait for the series to be released on DVD/Blu-ray. It's a limited-run, 7-episode series and we just had the 4th ep on Sunday, so the set should be released probably by the Fall.
