I was confused by that. I didn't know if they went back to Lee, or took off again possibly heading for Boston.
The first time i watched this, I thought it was the latter. The second time, I felt it was the former.
I hope they stayed with Lee. He seemed like a good guy.

shareI just watched this tonight and I think they 100% stayed. She knew he was a good man and said she was in love. The daughter I think after her reckless night realised they were finally safe.
shareI think they stayed. In the beginning the daughter's narration talks about rock bottom, from that point on things started to slowly improve. Also from the last conversation, it didn't seem like they were going to leave at all. Ruth knew her mom was happy and she could finally let her guard down. I don't think there was really any indication that they intended to leave.
