Disgusted
Sure, this kid's dream comes true and it's amazing to give a child such huge spectacle and adventure.
But if I was a dying kid who saw this movie, I'd kill myself in advance.

Why?

Well said. I have a son who has had seventeen brain operations - and he is five. Don't recall any calls from documentary-makers here. Not that I would take them. I think the word I am looking for is exploitation...
shareHave you bothered to contact the Make a Wish Foundation? This is where the documentary stems from. I am sorry about your child, but your bitterness is what's really disgusting.
Leave me be.
I wish your son all the best.

Blessings to you and your son.
I've only had two brain surgeries. That, however, means dick. Why did your son need those seventeen operations? Was it for a life-threatening disorder? or was it for something as minor as Hydrocephalus? Did you contact the Make-a-Wish foundation? If so, what did they say? If not, why?

Some days, you just can't get rid of a bomb.
I'm so sorry about your son. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family <3
shareI haven't seen the film, but I'd did read stories about the boy and his wish.
This is clearly a story about how one child and their wish connected with a large number of people around the planet. Part of that is possibly because the fulfillment of his wish was structured to allow others to participate. Others saw an opportunity where they could participate in a sick child's wish and seized it.
It snowballed thanks to the Internet.
It is not an exclusionary privileged exercise, but one where strangers from all over the planet decided to help a sick little kid.
How people can twist that into something evil and selfish says more about them than this.
Because I'd be disgusted that thousands of people go out of them way to make a spectacle over one kid whose leukemia is in remission while millions of kids in worse circumstances go without even basic healthcare.

The New York Rangers suck. And Sidney Crosby is a cry baby!
You can proceed and kill yourself if you wish, we don't need pessimistic people in this world, by the way, Miles Scott's cancer is in remission, he is a cancer survivor, who knows? maybe thanks to the Dark knight, just for your info... Get an education pal.

An education like yours? In what exactly, the petty personal details of individuals?
A cancer survivor is merely a person who has survived for a few months post-traditional cancer treatment. Why not take your own advice and "get an education pal"?
Oh and by the way, they could have easily treated this kid and anyone for their cancer using methods that are 100% foolproof but that doesn't make a lot of money so why bother?
Well, I think that make wishes come true is part of everyone's life. Kids dying from diseases is a brutal thing and I have no words to express that. Their wishes may be their last wishes and people need to respect that. But I also think that kids need to know the differences between fantasy and reality no matter the difficulties. This is part of the job of being a parent. One thing is give him a Batman outfit, another thing is feed his believes that he can be one.
When I watched the trailer I was shocked. Is that for real? I mean... look how huge that thing became. Block an entire street, have actors, police department, or even the president involved in all of that? That's insane. All of this do not show kids around the world that they need to have hope, but it shows that only one kid in the world could have all of that for no other reason than having a cancer like some other ones that will watch it and think "what is so special about him? I have cancer too and why he can have all of that but I can not?"
Yeah... If I was a dying kid I don't think I would kill myself in advance too, but I would make my parents life a living hell until one of them, pissed off, tells me the truth about it all in my face, which would be BATMAN DOESN'T EXIST. YOU CANNOT BE ONE BECAUSE WE DON'T HAVE MONEY TO DO IT, AND MY TWITTER AND FACEBOOK FRIENDS ARE TOO BUSY RIGHT NOW TO MOTIVATE AN ENTIRE CITY TO MAKE IT FOR YOU.
And I would never blame my parents on doing that. Would you?
One thing is make a wish come true, another thing is create a huge media spectacle around it to a point that Warner Bros is promoting and distributing this documentary. This is surreal. I've never heard about this kid here in Brazil before until watch the trailer, and I think that I'm the only one with my feet on the ground about all of this. Which, in my point of view, is simply ridiculous. I'm never going to watch it because it is clearly just another sensationalist spectactle to keep media needs running.
Very well said.

Yes, please save us the trouble and kill yourself (and the same to all the other negative people on here). Maybe the disease is treatable and people survive but its not the freakin point you heartless gutless pieces of trash. No kid should have to go through deathly illnesses or operations, but his parents and friends wanted to do something nice for him and it sparked something in a lot of people to help and thats amazing! if only this world had more kind and wonderful stories like this then people could live better non-depressed lives with or without illnesses. You scum who are mocking a little child and wishing him to be dead just for the sake of the movie, a movie which provides a good message and hope to others (something we rarely see these days), are pure and utterly disgusting. Grow up and be more supportive of good will and the good hearts of people.
Maybe if your child or someone you love or know is going through something worse or similar then get off your fat lazy @sses and go support and help them and make their wishes come true! Do something for someone else for a change and stop thinking about your own pitiful life.
