Fievel the Mouse as Han Solo, no swagger

I don't think the characters of Star Wars are very interesting or are even supposed to be. The focus is on the adventure. An introspection only makes this more apparent. The same is generally true for super heroes and so sometimes origin stories seem pedantic. We don't need to go back and have Batman or James Bond ad hoc explained to us. It's better if it's a mystery filled in by our imagination, with subtle hints. Imagine an origin story for Hitler where we see his childhood and a Jewish kid makes fun of his haircut. Does that explain the holocaust? Hollywood can't even figure out why people don't like Hillary Clinton. They have nothing to say to us about the human condition. Let's have escapist fun with no more pretense. Solo was not a huge offender but I don't like the direction it is going.

I do hope Hollywood has learned its lesson here, and the lesson from the failure of "Solo" is":

Some roles can't be recast.

Some can, there must be two dozen guys who've played James Bond and Batman can. But there's only one Han Solo, and you'd think the guys who get paid huge money to figure these things out would be able to figure out something as simple as that.
