What's the motivation for them? They must be getting great gobs of money 'cuz I don't see any of them doing it for the 'prestige' factor.
Godzilla is a legendary series and genre films in general have entered into the realm of acceptability for prestige actors.
It's not much different from how A-listers once tended to shy away from appearing in superhero films but now they're clamoring to be a part of one.
