Why would those popular types be friends with that fat dude?

I mean the majority of the cast were these CW-show types but one was this fat guy type. And they were still friends with him? That was most unrealistic part of the movie :)

He was good with technology. He also probably hooked them up with Weed. Plus as someone else said he had a snarky attitude that worked in his favor.

He was also probably an offensive lineman on the football team that's been bro's with Adam or Mike or Steve, whatever the other dudes were named since forever. Also, probably was the only one able to get them free downloaded movies and jail break their phones for them. And... yeah, the weed guy.
