We've been living a very nice and cozy life since the beginning of the Viking age.
Even WW2 didn't really damage our country. The Germans invaded us with minimal loss of life, we had a bit of a resistance movement which had a MASSIVE influx a month before the end of the war, and then everything went back to normal.
The Scandinavian countries haven't seen real war for centuries (We had some fights back in the 1600s though), no natural disasters, no catastrophes in that sense.
The worst thing that has happened in a Scandinavian country in recent times was the right-wing terrorist, Breivik.

Really, how did a girl with that background end up becoming such a typical liberal moron? It was so out of place that it spoiled the whole movie for me.

But then it's explained in the movie that the mother married up, I think 3 times, so the daughter most likely grew up in liberal circles. She was actually portraying the typical liberal rich brat with daddy issues, spoiled by her mother, who ran away with some badboy. In that regard her comments were actually perfectly fitting.
And from that viewpoint it makes sense that the nazi dude clashed with her, saying she represented what was going wrong with the world or something like that.
While the Gibson character was more of the balanced stable strong character who didn't take none of these two extremes' *beep*

I don't think you really understand the concepts of privilege and racism.
Privilege, in this sense, means that you won't miss out on a job due to your race or gender. If you claim this has EVER happened to a white person, you're a moron. Seriously.
White privilege means that if you or me apply to McDonald's, we will most likely automatically be in front of blacks, mexicans, women, arabs etc SIMPLY BECAUSE WE ARE STRAIGHT WHITE MALES. It's just how it is. I'm not saying it's your fault or my fault. It's just a fact of life that if you are a straight white male living in a western country, you have a better chance of making something out of your life than a black woman or a mexican man.
What white privilege does not mean is that you automatically become rich and powerful just by being white. It means that you have a natural better chance. You still have to work and TAKE those chances when they come, just like everybody else. Nothing gets handed to you.
All "white privilege" means is that if you are white in western society, you start out with better odds than if you are not white. If you can't or won't accept this fact, that's your problem.
